Robocalls are a growing problem. If only we could make the FCC care a little bit more about fixing it.

  • Let us pause and reflect, if for only a moment and wish, for the world is in chaos and reeks of drugs and crime, death and disorder. But, in the depth of secrecy a full-scale war has already been launched against factions worse than ever before seen and is run hidden by a shadowy government faction of heroes. Soon, they will launch phase two of an all-out war. One only need look to the sky and see it beginning! A struggle for humanity begins an all-out war! A draft is taken of well-defined lines for the elite in its cause! Hooray!

  • I'm actually surprised they put the address so early in the moby dick passage. It's like they were trying to play 4d Chess. 'If we put it at the start, they'll find it right away, same with middle or end. They'll probably assume its further in the agreement since it would take longer to get there so we'll put it halfway between the beginning and middle. It'll be the last place they'll look!

  • 10:00 i got a robocall using this exact vocaloid. i'm always suspicious of unknown callers who introduce themselves and then say "can you hear me." legitimate business callers will introduce themselves and ask if i am who they're calling for. even then, my response is usually "who is calling," not "yes." for some reason, i recognized this vocaloid right away and knew before "she" was even done with "her" opening line (which, naturally, ended in the "can you hear me" designed to prompt a spoken [and recordable] "yes" from me), so i answered "no." it gave _exactly_ that same long pause and snotty little laugh it gave the reporter here at the end and hung up on me.

  • Don't usually advocate violence to solve a problem, but here what I need is an app or star code to send a self destruct virus back to the robocaller's phone. Even if I was caught and prosecuted for damages; I'd have no qualms whatsoever destroying the instruments these people use to harass me and countless others daily. "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I admit that I knowingly and with purpose of action destroyed the victim's telecom equipment. However I submit that destruction of property can, in extremely narrow circumstances, be done for the good of society. If you feel any relief from not receiving these calls anymore, I submit that as proof of my argument. The public good accomplished here, and here alone, nullifies the ordinarily criminal nature of these charges. If you agree, simply vote not guilty. Thank you."

  • Honestly, Google is doing the most. On android phones you can mark calls as spam, and if a number has been marked spam before enough times, calls show up with a big banner letting you know that it's probably a scam. I don't answer the phone anyway, but it's still pretty cool

  • How can you block a robocall if a robocall can be made out of a network account without any phone company or number to block. I can make an untraceable number via skype in 5 minutes and you wouldnt be able to track it even if i started callign with death threats or such nonsense. The only way to do this is to basically remove all digital calling that isnt whitelisted.
